Bridges For Youth Has a History... and a Future

The vision for neighborhood youth centers began to take form in 1994. Founder, Steve Hare, initially met with a group of 18 middle school students, challenging them to live by faith. They met at Steve's home and other locations for four years until the vision became a reality.

The first Bridges for Youth center opened through God's provision and to His glory at 834 N. National Ave. on October 29, 1998. Read about the Miracles!

The Nichols Center was added through God's provision and to His glory in 2001 and now houses the organization's main office.

Bridges for Youth's third center was opened through God's provision and to His glory on January 16, 2004 at 2236 S. Ingram Mill Road.

The fourth Bridges For Youth Center was opened through God's provision and to His glory on January 12th, 2005.

Our fifth neighborhood center was opened through God’s provision and to His glory on March 13, 2006, at 2143 W. High in Springfield, Mo.

We celebrated the opening of our first youth center in  a small town on April 6, 2006. The Marshfield Bridges For Youth Center, our 6th youth center,  opened through God’s provision and to His glory at 302 S. Clay in Marshfield, Mo.

"Steve had a vision or a dream that only God could have given to him. On faith he stepped out and developed the first Bridges For Youth Center at his own financial risk to him and his family. With God's guidance he took this dream and made a difference in the local community."
Mike Freyer, long time supporter
"Gives my children sense of belonging in age orientated group, with positive and spiritual influence."
Penny, mom of ages 13 & 11 at the Family Violence Center Bridges For Youth
"I am pleased to have been able to support Bridges For Youth over the years. We know the importance of a good wholesome environment for children during the formative years. I believe Bridges For Youth provides such an environment for many children who otherwise would be forgotten."
Mark Harrell-Plaza Realty, long time supporter
